This Special Issue of the Nixene Journal is about the application of graphene technology in space and the companies that are operating in this sector. It represents curated content from the Nixene Journal between May 2018 and February 2020 The properties of graphene make it an ideally suited material for the harsh environment in space. Although to date, much of the technology is still at the research stage a number of UK companies are actively engaged in this field. In line with the current trends in graphene applications much of the work featured here is based around enhancing composites with graphene to improve their properties, though interestingly there are also experime nts in graphene based composite films for light propulsion.
